A breakfast of rye bread, butter, and apricot jam. How lovely, these are the best kind of breakfasts - in fact, the only ones I've been eating lately. But after starting to read Alone in the Kitchen with an Eggplant: Confessions of Cooking for One and Dining Alone, I'm not really ashamed of that anymore.
Not much has been going on the kitchen lately, I was planning on starting making Thomas Keller's croissants yesterday because the rainy weather is a perfect fit for laminated dough handling, but got home too later to measure out 0.1g of instant yeast, so I left the adventure to another weekend. I did buy diastatic malt powder in the speciality baking store, so I'm prepared. It was so much fun walking in the store by myself, uninterrupted :)
I started donating to the Malala Fund and bought a pair of TOMS from Haiti, trying to be good to the world. It's been bothering me for some time now that I'm not donating money to anything, so now I am.
French has been a bit abandoned recently, as I realize exactly how much I'll have to learn. I do need to get back to it though, French and ballet.
My next goals are to sign up for ballroom dancing, and go to a few meetups for real estate investing.
