As part of my "1 pastry/week" attempt, I made Ruby Tandoh's saffron glazed buns yesterday. They didn't come out well at all and I had to throw the entire batch out, but at least I only made half. I'm not too sure what went wrong, but they were not very soft or chewy. Perhaps I'll make the milk bread buns with saffron milk instead.
I'm feeling a bit sick today so I prepared myself a hot cup of milk with honey and butter. Then, I made some brown butter and poured it on top for a thick nutty layer on top of the frosty milk - it was divine!
