My name is Ekatrina, and I am the baker behind Bulachki.
Unlike your typical baker story, I didn't grow up tagging along my mother in the kitchen, nor did I have any interest in food (besides eating it). In fact, I baked my first dessert when I was in my twenties. It was meant to be a beautifully fudgy brownie, except that my end result looked nothing like the recipe's picture. To be honest, I burnt them. But I refused to give up, so I set out to try again. And again... and again some more. Somewhere during that process, I fell in love with baking: the scent of a perfectly browned butter, a glossy meringue, or a flavour combination that is just right. The ability to create something beautiful out of seemingly nothing has proven enchanting, and I have been obsessed ever since.
And the brownies? I still make them. These are my Salted Caramel Brownies, and I can promise you they won't be burnt this time.
P.S. The good looking guy is my partner Ben. Although he doesn't bake, he fulfills the role of Chief Dishwashing Officer and that is basically as important as it gets.
