My name is Ekatrina, and I'm the baker behind Bulachki.
Unlike your typical baker story, I didn't grow up tagging along my mother in the kitchen, watching wistfully as she mixed batters and kneaded dough. Rather, the majority of my formative years were spent on simply eating - without giving much thought to anything else besides the pure pleasures of chewy buns and caramelized sugar. In fact, the first dessert I ever baked was at the ripe age of 20. The recipe depicted a beautifully fudgy brownie, but the end result was definitely not beautiful. In reality - I burnt them. But I was in a bad need of a brownie, so I set out to try again. And again... and again some more.
Somewhere during that process, I fell in love with baking: the scent of a perfectly browned butter, a glossy meringue, or a flavour combination that is just right. The ability to create something beautiful out of seemingly nothing has proven enchanting, and I've been obsessed ever since.
And the brownies? I still make them to this day. These are my Salted Caramel Brownies, and I can promise you they won't be burnt this time.
